KHT5005.2 WIRELESS

KEF have added their revolutionary wireless technology to the KHT5000 system creating an incredible audiophile home theatre system with wireless CD quality sound for the rear channels.

For existing 5000 Series owners, it’s easy to adapt your system to wireless operation. The rear speakers can also be purchased separately for use in any surround system.

RECEIVER

In order to achieve real full-bodied audiophile sound reproduction KEF has developed a leading edge 2.4Ghz wireless transmission technology that uses the most advanced error protection and sophisticated ’intellgent’ adaptive frequency hopping, ensuring an interference free signal. This makes certain that the transmission is not affected by such things as microwave ovens, mobile or digital cordless telephones, and wireless LAN routers, while still providing the superior sound quality demanded by true audiophiles.

HTS/HTC5001

Flanked by a pair of 75mm (3in.) long-throw bass drivers with ultra-low distortion motor systems, the Uni-Q® array has KEF’s 15mm (0.6in.) metal dome HF driver at the acoustic centre of the 75mm (3in.) midrange cone to disperse a seamless sonic image evenly throughout the listening area. And what an image it is - richly textured and spatially precise in every dimension.

Wireless

KEF have developed innovative new technlogies to deliver high-quality wireless audio, while at the same time avoiding signal interference:

A narrow signal band is used that is sufficient enough for high-quality audio transmission yet perfect for finding a path through the congested environment of a home filled with potentially conflicting devices. This narrow band is a feature of HFADPCM (High Fidelity Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation), and along with advanced error correction technology ensures an exceptionally robust delivery of CD-quality audio between the transmitter and receivers.

The system detects other tranmitters in the 2.4Ghz frequency - such as cordless phones, wi-fi routers and mircowave ovens - then 'hops' out of the way of potentially conflicting signals. With this technology known as AAFHSS (Advanced Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum), a processor constantly monitors serveral channels at a time and continually switches to the strongest available to ensure a constantly pure signal. It's all done in milliseconds so you don't notice it's happening: nothing gets in the way of your enjoyment
