KHT3005SE-W

The KHT3005SE-W system floods the room with the same dense, intricate and richly textured 3D sound image as the KHT3005SE, but with a valuable additional benefit: the convenience of a wireless version of the award-winning HTB2SE subwoofer, which eliminates the need to embed or trail cables around the room.

In its surprisingly compact cast aluminium enclosure (acoustically inert, like that of the satellites and the stunning centre channel), the HTB2SE-W boasts a 250W Class-D amp powering a 10in. (250mm) LF driver and matching bass radiator to deliver visceral low frequency punch while retaining the delicacy to convey the subtlest effects.

Just as importantly, it also houses uniquely advanced KEF signal transmission and processing technologies to eliminate unwanted mutes, dropouts and loss of bonding as well as interference from other electronics (including cordless and mobile phones). Equally at home horizontally or vertically, it comes with KEF’s SmartBass™ functionality to simplify set-up, so you can be enjoying your system within minutes of opening the box.

No interference from other electronics

Aluminium dome tweeter with ‘tangerine’ waveguide

The unique ‘tangerine’ waveguide delivers a smoother, clearer high frequency response with an even wider dispersion as well as providing an excellent protection from straying fingers

Uni-Q®

KEF’s patented ’sit anywhere’ Uni-Q driver places the tweeter in the acoustic centre of the bass/midrange cone (woofer). This allows both woofer and tweeter to act as a single, focused source of sound that is dispersed widely and evenly throughout the room. The practical benefit is that great sound can be experienced from anywhere in the listening environment removing the "sweet spot" effect.

Sealed Suspension Technology (SST)

A patented KEF technology that effectively seals the gap between a moving mid-range cone and tweeter, which has the effect of dramatically improving sound quality, particularly at higher volumes.

Wireless

KEF have developed innovative new technlogies to deliver high-quality wireless audio, while at the same time avoiding signal interference:

A narrow signal band is used that is sufficient enough for high-quality audio transmission yet perfect for finding a path through the congested environment of a home filled with potentially conflicting devices. This narrow band is a feature of HFADPCM (High Fidelity Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation), and along with advanced error correction technology ensures an exceptionally robust delivery of CD-quality audio between the transmitter and receivers.

The system detects other tranmitters in the 2.4Ghz frequency - such as cordless phones, wi-fi routers and mircowave ovens - then 'hops' out of the way of potentially conflicting signals. With this technology known as AAFHSS (Advanced Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum), a processor constantly monitors serveral channels at a time and continually switches to the strongest available to ensure a constantly pure signal. It's all done in milliseconds so you don't notice it's happening: nothing gets in the way of your enjoyment
