The Coda II
KEF Coda II is a high-quality bookshelf loudspeaker offering the domestic user all the benefits of KEF advanced technology at an easily affordable price. Coda II will dramatically improve the quality of reproduction from any rack system or music centre particularly in regard to fine detail and tonal balance. Its high efficiency and excellent impedance characteristics assure high volume levels without distortion even with low-output amplifiers.

Coda II Benefits
KEF break the price/performance barrier with this two-way loudspeaker system - Coda II. The classically styled, yet compact listening levels for either popular or classical music.
KEF pioneered computer-aided techniques used to design and produce the world-famous Model 105. Coda II has benefited from KEFs unrivalled experience in this field and offers standards of performance and consistency only previously obtainable at a much higher price.
Coda II is a high-quality bookshelf loudspeaker of good sensitivity intended for use in average living rooms with associated electronics giving up to 50 watts output per channel into 8 ohms. Coda II contains many technical design features normally found in systems costing much more. In particular the use of computer-optimised crossover networks combined with tight production control provides a standard of performance and reliability only previously available from larger and more expensive loudspeakers. Efficiency is above average and rated at 87dB per watt at 1metre. In typical listening conditions peak sound pressure levels of 104dB are readily achieved.
This new two-way loudspeaker is fitted with a KEF bass-midrange drive unit employing a paper-cone diaphragm terminated by a plastic PVC roll-surround. Its associated filter section produces a second-order target function centred on 3kHz at which frequency there occurs a smooth transfer of energy to the dome high-frequency radiator. The crossover design which is normally a weakness in low-cost loudspeakers has received particular attention. The usual disturbing audible crossover effects are thereby avoided in this model.
Low-frequency output is maintained nominally flat down to 65Hz with useful output down to 50Hz. There is a higher rate of attenuation below that frequency to obviate the influence of unwanted sub-sonic signals which are often prevalent in simpler installations.
Coda II is available in black or simulated walnut veneer with removable textile grille.
