The Ultimate Sound for Home Theatre
Drawing upon over 30 years of experience in the research and development of high fidelity loudspeakers, KEF has designed a complete new range of loudspeakers, to home THX certification standards, which deliver home theatre sound of unparalleled quality.
The Lucasfilm THX standards have successfully established important criteria for the total performance of movie theatre sound systems throughout the USA and the rest of the world. Turning their attention to the domestic stage, Lucasfilm have produced a similar set of standards for home audio systems. Home THX certification is your guarantee that these very high standards have been met and that high quality reproduction of multi-channel film sound in the home is assured.
However, experienced audiophiles and perceptive music lovers alike, know that audio components, especially loudspeakers, can have nearly identical specifications and yet in no way share identical sound quality. In a desire to produce the most superior home theatre sound quality available, KEF has embraced home THX established performance standards. And more. Together the KEF THX AV1 subwoofer, AV2 surround speakers and the AV3 front left, centre, right (LCR) speakers form a completely integrated six-speaker system that achieves home theatre sound quality which other systems would find difficult to equal.
The KEF Home THX System
A complete KEF home THX system employs one AV1 subwoofer, three AB3 LCR speakers for the left, centre and right positions in front, and two AV2 surround speakers on the side walls of the viewing room. The astonishing bass of the AV1 subwoofer means that the systems other speakers are freed from the burden of deep bass reproduction, allowing them to generate high output sound of the highest quality from compact enclosures. The KEF home THX system unobtrusively and elegantly delivers the ultimate in home theatre sound quality.
