Monitor Series
For most people, the reproduction of recorded sound is a relative matter; anything that seems reasonably close to the original is good enough.
But for professionals and serious audiophiles the very idea of compromise is unacceptable. The standards they seek are absolute. They want completely flat response. Neutral balance. No discernible coloration or distortion, even at high volume. A listening experience which reflects all the subtlety and fine details of the original performance. In other words reproduction technology that's wholly transparent. Nothing less will do.
These are the people for whom KEF has created the Monitor Series.
Designed by the same engineers as the legendary Reference Series, the Monitor models are supremely accurate - and as the first loudspeakers of their type to feature KEF's patented Uni-Q® technology, they set new standards of audio clarity.
Now in its fourth generation, Uni-Q technology places the HF driver at the exact acoustic centre of the mid-range cone to create a single point source - the ideal to which all speakers aspire. This unique configuration virtually eliminates undesirable crossover effects - and with the directivity of both drivers so perfectly matched, an immaculate stereo image is created over a far wider listening area.
All three models are unusually efficient, with high output and exceptional power handling capabilities. Bass response is tightly controlled and remarkably extended for the cabinet size.
Naturally, the standard of finish is commensurate with the quality of sound reproduction, with thick side cheeks in either high gloss red lacquer or cherry wood veneer.
A legendary heritage
The Monitor Series is the latest expression of a distinguished tradition. Their spiritual predecessors of the last three decades include KEF's legendary KM1, P60 and LS3/5a professional monitors, now universally accepted as highly collectable classics of loudspeaker design. Today, with all the benefit of 35 years of KEF research and innovation, that distinction belongs to the Monitor Series.
